Man of the Year 2008 - Marek Kołakowski (President of Mebelplast)
On 13 January 2009 a Gala featuring a ceremony of handing over of "Man of the Year" and "Company of the Year" awards of the Meble Plus monthly was held in the Jan III Sobieski Hotel in Warsaw.
The prizes were awarded for the second time, based on the ranking run by the editors of the Meble Plus monthly. The editors identified five individuals and companies that they felt deserved a nomination for the Man of the Year and Company of the Year titles. The selection of the winners was made by companies of the industry.
Marek Kołakowski, President of Mebelplast SA, received 47.7% of votes and thus received the title of the Man of the Year 2008. This came in wake of a Silver Cross of Merit awarded by the President of the Polish Republic, a high class distinction given to the President and founder of Mebelplast.
In electing their Man of the Year, the respondents of Meble Plus, among other things, appreciated his reaching for new means of promotion in the industry, in cooperation with Ewa Minge, the well-known fashion designer.
